It is a standard form for optimizing raster images for mobile devices in a single-bit color. The name is an abbreviation for Wireless Bitmap. WBMP is an analogue of the BMP graphic image format, but unlike it supports only monochrome 1-bit images. The WBMP format is widely used in mobile phones and PDAs; files of this format can be part of the forwarded SMS messages.
