PNM is a raster image category format. This is a bitmap bitmap created in Portable Any Map format. As you know, this format was intended from the very beginning to process some types of portable monochrome black and white images (PBM), color images (PPM) and grayscale images with shades of gray (PGM). Allows the inclusion of raster graphics data in the .PBM, .PGM or .PPM format. The same programs are able to convert images of this format.

JXR is a raster image category file format whose full name is JPEG XR Image. JXR files were created so that you can support better compression and also become more accurate than .JPG files. The development of the image, which is stored in JPEG XR format, has been handled by Microsoft from the very beginning for its Windows Media program. Implements support for images with a color depth of 48 bits of RGB. Used when professional high-resolution image editing is required. Also provides lossy and lossless compression support. JPEG XR, formerly called HD Photo and Windows Media Photo, is an encoding standard. This is the file format for still images. It was patented by Microsoft. This standard supports Windows Vista, like any operating system on which the .NET Framework 3.0 is installed. It defines color formats for printing and displaying. It also defines special encoding in order to expand the dynamic range, lossless and lossy compression functions, as well as efficient decoding for many resolutions with minimal computer resources in order to convert or decode. JPEG XR is inherently high performance. For example, with 85% quality, there are practically no artifacts.
