Guide updated:
Gradually reveal the picture at the start or darken it to black at the end, without changing the frame dimensions.
Open this guide using the “How to use this tool” link below the tool name. It includes steps, screenshots and videos for computers and phones.
Before you start
Choose a readable video and keep the original. Video and audio fading are separate settings when both are offered.
Try with a demonstration file — video.mp4
These small files were created for this guide and contain no personal data.
Step-by-step instructions
- Choose the video and wait for its preview and fade controls.
- Decide whether the picture should gradually appear from black, disappear to black, or use both transitions.
- Set the available transition durations or time ranges and review any separate audio-volume option.
- Review the output settings and displayed charge, then start processing.
- Play both ends of the finished clip, check the sound transition, and save the result.
On a computer
Use the full-width working panel to compare the source, settings and result. Keep the original file so you can try another setting without replacing it.
On a phone
Choose the source from Files or your device file manager. Scroll down to the settings and result; keep this tab open until the operation finishes.
In Safari on iPhone, open the sharing menu and choose Save to Files if the result opens in a new tab. In Android Chrome, check Downloads. Keep this tab open until processing finishes.
For a better result
Keep the gradual transition to or from black short enough that the important action remains visible.

Questions and troubleshooting
Why does the sound still start abruptly?
A visual fade does not necessarily change audio. Check the separate sound controls offered by the tool.
Why is the fade setting rejected?
A fade interval must fit inside the video duration. Try a shorter value for a short clip.
If you see a message that the service is overloaded, wait and try again later. A failed attempt does not mean that your source file has changed.
