Guide updated:
Review an animation, adjust supported frame settings and compare the exported file size.
Open this guide using the “How to use this tool” link below the tool name. It includes steps, screenshots and videos for computers and phones.
Before you start
Keep the original GIF. Reducing dimensions, colors or frames can reduce size but also changes appearance.

Step-by-step instructions
- Choose the animation and wait for its preview and frame controls.
- Play it once to identify the important frames and timing.
- Adjust the available optimization or frame settings. Change one option at a time.
- Use the export or optimization action and wait for the new animation.
- Check playback speed, looping and appearance, compare file sizes, and save the preferred version.
On a computer
Use the full-width working panel to compare the source, settings and result. Keep the original file so you can try another setting without replacing it.
On a phone
Choose the source from Files or your device file manager. Scroll down to the settings and result; keep this tab open until the operation finishes.
In Safari on iPhone, open the sharing menu and choose Save to Files if the result opens in a new tab. In Android Chrome, check Downloads. Keep this tab open until processing finishes.
For a better result
Text and small moving details are useful places to check for damage caused by strong optimization.

Questions and troubleshooting
Why does the animation play at a different speed?
Frame duration or frame removal can change timing. Review the remaining frame delays before exporting.
Why did the file not get smaller?
The original may already be optimized, or the selected settings may preserve too much detail to reduce it further.
If you see a message that the service is overloaded, wait and try again later. A failed attempt does not mean that your source file has changed.
