Before you start
Keep the original drawing. Select a format accepted by the file picker; a preview is not an editable Visio document.
Try with a demonstration file — diagram.vdx
These small files were created for this guide and contain no personal data.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open Visio Viewer and choose the drawing from your device.
- Check the selected file and press the button to open it.
- Wait for the diagram preview, then use Fit to width or Whole page to inspect its layout.
- Check other pages, small labels and connector positions. Open the PDF in a separate tab if the embedded preview is unavailable.
- Save the PDF preview or use the print control. Clear the current selection before opening a different drawing.
On a computer
Use the full-width working panel to compare the source, settings and result. Keep the original file so you can try another setting without replacing it.
On a phone
Choose the source from Files or your device file manager. Scroll down to the settings and result; keep this tab open until the operation finishes.
In Safari on iPhone, open the sharing menu and choose Save to Files if the result opens in a new tab. In Android Chrome, check Downloads. Keep this tab open until processing finishes.
For a better result
Inspect fine labels at a readable zoom before sharing the PDF; a small overview can hide substituted fonts.

Questions and troubleshooting
Can I edit shapes in this viewer?
The service prepares a preview. Use a diagram editor to change shapes or connections in the source drawing.
Why does the preview look different?
Unsupported fonts or drawing features can change rendering. Compare important elements against the original.
If you see a message that the service is overloaded, wait and try again later. A failed attempt does not mean that your source file has changed.
